About Us
Total Pursuit Athletics
Total Pursuit Athletics (originally CrossFit TPA, The Primal Athlete) started in a garage in February 2012. What started as a group of friends and former training clients coming together to workout and help others, turned into something really special. In May of 2012 TPA moved into its current location in Zelienople, but with only 2000 square feet of our current space. Three expansions and almost 10 years later, we have one of the largest functional fitness spaces with up to date equipment for all your fitness needs.
With thoughtful workout programming created and taught by the most highly qualified, educated, and experienced coaches in the business, our sessions are fun, safe and wildly effective!

Alex Valadja
Owner and Head Coach
Alex is the owner and head coach at Total Pursuit Athletics. Throughout high school and college, he trained to fuel his performance in baseball. Enjoying an active lifestyle drew him to a degree in Kinesiology from James Madison University, while being a successful pitcher on the baseball team. While finishing his degree, Alex joined the Strength & Condition staff at JMU, which only fueled his passion to helping people realize their potential through fitness.

Meghan Morris

Meghan’s background as an avid runner paired with a Culinary Arts degree and years as a Chef helped to create a passion for helping others reach their goals by being intentional with their food choices. She truly believes that the path to reaching your goals, whether they be aesthetic, performance or health related, starts with making the right food choices.

Lizzie started at TPA in 2016 as a member of the teens class and, through it, found her love for fitness. Lizzie has since been able to become a coach and has earned a USAW Level 1 certification. She is currently majoring in Exercise Science at Slippery Rock University.

Coming back from a (sport) career ending injury in college, Sam has extensive experience adapting and scaling movements to meet athletes where they’re at. When she’s not working with teens/kids during the day, she’s coaching them after school! She loves to help every athlete feel capable and celebrate a nice PR!
